- Simplify variable expressions

- Solve addition and subtraction equations

- Solve two-step equations

- Write and solve inequalities

- Write and evaluate function rules

- Graph functions in a coordinate plane

Week Three and Four

Chapter 8- Ratios and Proportions Goal: 2.1,2.2

- Write and compare ratios

- Use ratios to compare two quantities with different units

- Find the slope of a line on a graph

- Solve proportions using equivalent ratios and algebra

- Use cross products to solve proportions

- Use proportions with scale drawings

Week Five and Six

Chapter 9-Percents Goal:2.2,2.2.2,1.2.6

- Percents and Fractions

- Percents and proportions

- Percents and decimals

- The percent equation

- Circle graphs

- Percent of increase and decrease

- Discounts, markups, sales tax and tips

- Simple interest

Week Seven and Eight and Nine

Chapter 10 Geometric Figures Goal: 2.3.1,4.1,4.2, 4.3

- Angles

- Special pairs of angles

- Triangles

- Polygons

- Similar and congruent polygons

- Using proportions with similar polygons

- Transformations and symmetry

- Transformations in the coordinate plane

The students will also work with the accelerated Math program so that they can work at their own pace. This can be brought home everyday and it will greatly improve Math skills. They will be required to do 40 objectives this 9 weeks.
